Working to end war and its causes
War Resisters' International (WRI) is a global antimilitarist and pacifist network with more than 80 affiliated groups in 40 countries that facilitate mutual support. Born in 1923 as an evolution of the PACO (which in turn brought together various radical European pacifist organizations of the time), the WRI stands out for the development of actions and campaigns based on active nonviolence.
After almost 100 years of existence, it is one of the most active operational organizations, and currently focuses its work on defending the right to refuse to kill and on the creation and application of nonviolence programs, in addition to working against the militarization of youth.
