Janet Biehl is one of the great theorists of social ecology. In 1986 she began her relationship with Murray Bookchin at the Institute for Social Ecology. She was closely involved with Burlington Greens and the Left Green Network during the 1980s and 1990s, as well as publishing and co-editing with Bookchin the renowned journal Left Green Perspectives (1986-2000).
